Volunteers are an integral part of the DreamPower community.  DreamPower exists only through the dedication, commitment and creativity of our volunteers.  From January - June 2008, 56 wonderful volunteers donated over 2,500 hours of volunteer time to DreamPower.  At DreamPower, volunteers clean stalls, water horses, exercise horses, turn-out horses, organize fundraising, groom horses, assist with lessons, walk beside our students, lead horses and speak to community groups about equine therapy and our programs.

Volunteer Trainings
In addition to being part of a warm and welcoming volunteer community, DreamPower volunteers are invited to participate in free trainings and seminars that cater to a variety of interests, from natural horsemanship to equine therapy-related topics. For example, during the first half of 2008, DreamPower volunteers were invited to participate in two trainings. One training focused on Natural Horsemanship Groundwork and the other surveyed Gangs in the South Bay.  At least three more free trainings for volunteers are scheduled during the second half 2008.

If you are interested in volunteering at DreamPower,  please call the office at (408) 686-0535 or email dreampowerhorsemanship@hotmail.com.

Volunteer T-shirts

Volunteers receive a free DreamPower t-shirt. All volunteers are encouraged to wear their DreamPower shirt while assisting at the barn. The t-shirts feature the new DreamPower logo designed by volunteer Morgan Small of Keylyt Creative. Thank you, Morgan!

Internships

A limited number of internships are available for Marriage and Family Therapy Interns and for experienced equestrians pursuing riding instructor certification through NARHA.  Please contact Martha McNiel at the DreamPower office for more information about internships.
