Therapeutic Horsemanship Lessons
Helping individuals with special needs learn how to understand, groom, ride, communicate and work with horses is the focus of the Therapeutic Horsemanship lesson program. Each lesson is conducted by a NARHA Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor. We work with children, teens and adults with mental, emotional, and behavioral problems and with complex medical issues and disabilities. Lessons may be mounted (riding) or unmounted, depending on the client's goals. Volunteers are available to help with sidewalking and leading the horse, when that would be helpful to the client. To learn more, or to schedule a lesson, contact Dreampower.

Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy
For Individuals, Groups, Families and Couples
An experiential treatment approach involving unmounted and mounted horsemanship sessions, Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy is provided by the synergistic team of the horse, the therapeutic riding instructor and a licensed mental health professional. Treatment goals are set at the beginning of therapy and the client and therapist work together with the horse, to help the client achieve his or her goals. We work with individuals ages 5 and up, as well as groups, families and couples. Read more about our Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy program.

Equine Facilitated Learning - School Partnerships

DreamPower partners with local schools to provide Equine Facilitated Learning programs for students. Lessons may be mounted or unmounted and may be scheduled for a few weeks or an entire semester. Contact the DreamPower office for more information about how students from your school can benefit from a DreamPower program.

Equine Journey Wilderness Program
A twelve-week character development curriculum called "Cowboy Poetry" is combined with horsemanship lessons and week-end wilderness camping trips in this life-changing experience for teens and young adults. Designed to challenge teens and move them out of their comfort zone, the Equine Journey Wilderness Program teaches teens the values of honesty, integrity, loyalty, respect, and care for the wilderness, while they learn to communicate with and ride horses.
