
Six Sessions - Saturday, July 24 - August, 28, 2010
During these six two-hour sessions for veterans only, participants will learn:
• How to groom and tack a horse
• How to control a horse on the ground
• How to ride a horse
• How to understand horse behavior
• How to communicate with a horse
On August 28, 2010, the final day of the program, DreamPower will host a family fun day and BBQ for participating veterans and their families. Festivities include riding demonstrations by the program participants, "pony" rides for kids and delicious bar-b-que.
There is no cost to participating veterans for this program. The program has been fully funded by the San Martin Lions Club. Transportation will be provided by the Santa Cruz County Veterans Center.

Horses for Heroes is a program for veterans of the armed forces and their spouses and children. Group sessions for vets, groups for children of deployed soldiers and couples' communication workshops for vets and their spouses are all a part of Horses for Heroes.
